Why wouldn't I deal with tech debt internally?

Great question! For starters an experienced Senior developer costs over £100,000 a year including benefits (if you can find a good one) recruitment alone for a senior level developer could run close to 5 figures. You need these rockstars focused on building cash generating functionality for your customers. With our subscription plan, you release your developers to focus on what is important to the business, while we tidy up after them

How do I know if I need an enterprise subscription?

Enterprise subscriptions are designed for much larger organisations who own many large projects that contain could potentionally contain large amounts of legacy code. Projects that make sure of older technologies no longer supported also require an enterprise subscription.

Why is the Enterprise subscription so expensive?

The price of the Enterprise subscription is intended to represent the extra effort that will go into fixing tech debt in larger and older projects. Issues like old documentation, legacy technologies, churn of experienced staff will mean that ghostdebt will be required to put much more effort into resolving issues.

How many requests can I submit?

Requests are unlimited, submit as many tech debt requests as you think you can manage. They'll all go into our queue and we'll get to work on them in due time. Even though we work with multiple clients at the same time, we'll always make sure to progress cleaning up your tech debt every week.

What languages do you support?

We specialise mainly in c# and the .Net ecosystem, but we are more than happy to work on Python, Elixir, Typescipt, Javascript, and VB.net

How big can requests be?

Requests that are too large will likely be either rejected or we can work together to break them down into smaller chunks. This makes sure we can constantly keep delivering small improvements week in week out

Can I pause my subscription?

Subscriptions can be paused on a monthly basis. You will also be given the option to pause during any hiatuses that might occur due to holidays or illness

How will you access our code?

This part is really up to you. Direct access can be given via a git repository or you can setup a virtual machine for us to access that we can use. Its important to note that were possible 2 factor authentication should always be used.

How do we protect our IP?

Ghostdebt is more than happy to sign any NDA's and non compete contracts that you deem necessary to facilitate our work. We do however reserve the right to refuse if we feel that the agreements are too restrictive that it would prevent us from providing our services to other clients.

Is there an onboarding process?

Once your subscription is confirmed you will gain access to a trello board. This will allow you to detail any work you would like us to undertake. As well as allow you to track any progess. You should aim to grant any access required and provide any "Getting Started" documentation as soon as possible to allow us to get started, these can be sent via email. A point of contact for any technical questions should also be provided.

How will you submit changes?

All changes will be submitted via a Pull Request on the clients source control system. This change then needs to be approved using an approval process the client usually relies on. Ghostdebt will then endevour to either justify or rectify any changes where concens have been raised.
